This is an account of research into the training, support and development needs of Participation Workers.
The research took place between June and September 2001. A survey was conducted across England and Wales. 186 people took part in the research. The results showed overwhelming support for the establishment of a Participation Workers Service which would provide specialist advice, support training and networking opportunities. Proposals for the structure and functions of this service are explored in this report.
