The Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) is setting up an advisory committee for children and young people to help to lead CRAE’s work.
CRAE are looking for young people aged 17 years old or under who are committed to children’s human rights. The advisory committee’s role will involve contributing to CRAE’s work by helping them decide which children’s rights issues to work on and helping to design children’s rights projects. Young committee members will also advise CRAE on the running of their young activists network, write articles for their newsletters and get involved in running campaigns. They will also act as spokespeople for the media and get involved in fundraising.
Young people interested in applying need to be able to attend 3 meetings a year at CRAE’s offices in London for which travel expenses will be paid and be willing to do some work in between meetings. Applicants must also be able to come to the first meeting of the advisory committee in London on Saturday 8 May 2010.
Applications can be made online by downloading and completing the application form on the CRAE website. The closing date for applying to join is Sunday 11 April 2010.
For any questions about the advisory committee call Carla Garnelas on 020 7278 8222 extension 25 or email info@crae.org.uk.
