The NCVYS Young Partners Award (YPA) is a celebration of young people’s involvement in decision making within voluntary and community youth organisations or projects. It provides an opportunity for such organisations and projects to demonstrate what young people and adults can achieve through working in partnership, sharing ideas and inspiring each other.
The deadline for all nomination applications for this year’s NCVYS Young Partners Award is approaching fast. Only 2 weeks left to make nominations! So if you’re a voluntary and community youth organisations and projects, act now and make your nomination today!
The application forms will be shortlisted after the closing date by young people from our national youth forum, ENVOY. Each short-listed organisation or project will be visited by members of ENVOY and a NCVYS staff member, they will use this visit as an opportunity to talk to young people about their participation and where appropriate see an example of the work carried out in the organisation or project. Based on this visit the winners are decided. All short-listed organisations and projects will then be invited to an awards ceremony taking place in early December where the winners will be announced.
On the day there will be a range of workshops and entertainment. Food and drinks will also be provided.
The winner will receive cash prizes, promotional opportunities, a free NCVYS membership and an opportunity to attend the NCVYS practice sharing event, to lead a youth participation workshop to NCVYS members. The practice sharing event is a one-day free event for organisations to share their experiences of youth participation and hear from a range of projects in workshops.
If you work with any other organisations or projects in the voluntary and community sector that involve young people, get in touch and give them the chance to win fantastic prizes and demonstrate their exciting work! The deadline to post all nominations is Friday 17 September 2010.
