Mediabox are recruiting Young Champions

Mediabox are currently recruiting for nine young champions to join them.

Through mediabox young disadvantaged people aged 13 to 19 years old can apply for grants ranging from £500 to £40,000 to develop and produce their own creative media projects using film, television, print, radio or online media platforms. Mediabox gives young people the opportunity to have their say and get their voices heard on issues that matter to them.  

Mediabox are looking for nine young advisors aged 18 plus to support their work across England. The young advisors will work 1 and 2 days a week acting as champions for mediabox. Their role will include developing and attending at least six young people’s board meetings each year and four consortia boards and advising the board. They will also visit mediabox funded projects to carry out evaluations, feedback to mediabox on what is working well and where youth involvement and leadership needs improving and collect case studies. Other activities will include participating in funding panels to approve bids for mediabox funding. They will also represent mediabox in the local and national press and promote mediabox online.

The Young Advisors will be hosted in locally based regional youth organisations that are affiliated to the Young Advisors network.

Mediabox are looking for young people that have experience of youth involvement activity and are passionate about youth media, ICT confident and have good communication skills.

Young people interested in applying need to fill in the application form. The deadline for applications is Friday 3 July. Short listed applicants will be invited to attend a recruitment day on Wednesday 29 July in Birmingham.
