Look Listen Change is recruiting for a group of young evaluators to help them evaluate the Youth4U – Young Inspectors programme.
Youth4U - Young Inspectors is a new national programme run by Look Listen Change which is made up of the British Youth Council (BYC), Council for Disabled Children (CDC), KIDS, the National Centre for Excellence in Residential Child Care (NCERCC) and the National Children’s Bureau (NCB).
Through Youth4U - Young Inspectors small teams of young people from all over England will be involved in inspecting services in their area such as transport, health clinics, community policing, libraries, career advice and youth centres and giving constructive advice to the people in charge of them and/or who commissioned them.
Look Listen Change is looking to recruit young people aged 13-19 years old or up to 25 years old if they are a young disabled person or have an impairment. The Young Evaluators will work with the research team at NCB. They will receive training in research and evaluation methods, conduct research with the young people and adults involved in Youth4U - Young Inspectors to find out more about the young people participating in the project and what is working well and what isn’t and write up their findings into a report.
The consortium is hoping to recruit two groups of Young Evaluators - one group will be based in London, and the other in Manchester.
Young people interested in applying can request more information and an application form by sending an email to mthompson@ncb.org.uk. The application deadline is 1pm on Friday 14 August 2009.
