Free conference on sexual exploitation and youth participation

The nia project is running a conference on October 18th on Sexual Exploitation: Young People’s participation in developing and delivering prevention & support services.

The conference will celebrate and share the exciting pieces of participatory work with children and young people carried out by a number of different projects.

The conference aims to ensure the voices of sexually exploited young people are heard and that young people are able to influence the development and delivery of services that support sexually exploited children and young people.

With this in mind the objectives of the conference will be:

  • To celebrate examples of good practice in participatory work.
  • To share practical tools in for use in delivering participatory work.
  • To hear from young people about how they understand sexual exploitation, how they want services to run and how they can be involved.
  • To explore ways services can reach all young people including BAMER, young men and involve them in service delivery.
  • To hear what young people want from professionals and services in supporting their risk to sexual exploitation.

Examples of good practice will be shared through workshops and relevant resources will be showcased.
