Children and young people to participate in evaluating the impact of services which affect their lives

A new national programme ‘Action Impact’ is being launched to enable organisations to measure and improve their impact and involve everyone they work with in the process.

The programme which will be delivered by Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership and Participation Works has been designed to enable attendees to learn and practice skills and techniques that will support their organisation to define and evaluate impact, whilst providing a foundation of concepts and theory needed to ensure participation of service users is realised.

Attendees on the programme will become impact and participation champions and will gather a toolkit of relevant techniques, tools and concepts to enable their organisations to measure impact and ensure participation.

Dr Gill Tricoglus, Director at Carnegie Leaders in Learning said:
"Carnegie Leaders has a track record of delivering national programmes in partnership with a range of organisations and we are delighted to have formed such a partnership with Participation Works! For the last four years, we have developed impact for a variety of children's service settings and believe now is the right time to offer this support to voluntary sector organisations."

Mandy Douglas, Assistant Director at Participation Works said:
"More than ever before voluntary organisations are being asked to provide evidence of their impact, and must be able to effectively involve children and young people in this process. We're pleased to be launching this new service which will enable organisations to meet these demands."

Maggie Turner, OBE, Chief Executive at Diana Award said on working with Carnegie Leaders in Learning on Impact:
"What is really evident is that impact monitoring is essential for survival and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to you and for your support in getting this going for us."
