The Faculty of Health and Applied Social Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) will be holding their first international conference in The Theory and Practice of Working with Children and Young People.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together academics and practitioners to debate and analyse the challenges experienced by those who work with Children and Young People nationally and internationally, and to acknowledge, celebrate and critically analyse a range of responses.

There is a call for papers to be submitted by 1st August 2009 for one of the following strands:

  • Health and Well-being
  • Evidence Based Practice
  • Participation
  • Growing up in the globalised 'risk' society
  • Higher Education

Conference Papers

  • Proposals are invited around the 5 conference themes above for:
  • Concurrent Paper Sessions
  • Workshops and Roundtable Sessions
  • Panel Symposium
  • Poster Session

300 word abstracts are due in by 1st August 2009. They will be reviewed by the organising committee and selected contributors will be notified by the first week in September. All abstracts should be sent to WWCAYP-Papers@ljmu.ac.uk.
