Who is the programme for?
Organisations that are interested in and have the resources to support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 to undertake young person led projects.
Aim of the programme:
To equip participants with an understanding of the Saying Power approach to participation, accredit young people’s learning and support young people to lead project work.
Information about the seminar:
Saying Power is based on a model of good practice developed for Participation Works by Save the Children UK. The flexible and structured programme offers seven OCN accredited modules; children’s rights, participation and equal opportunities, project planning and project promotion, project worker role, group work and communication skills, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy and change, regeneration work, research skills and research practice.
There are supporting workbooks and a support worker manual.
The programme requires an organisation to commit time and resources to support the young person/people to achieve a module of the Saying Power programme. Participation Works provides support to the organisation throughout the project and is responsible for assessing the portfolios of work
