What is it?
North West Circles of Influence 2010 is an event which gives young people from across the North West the chance to debate issues that are important to them, and put their point of view across to senior decision makers such as Government Office North West Directors. The event is organised and run by young people from the North West Regional Youth Forum (which incorporates UK Youth Parliament North West).

Young people who attend will have the opportunity to take part in two of seven “Circle Debates”.  Circle Debates contain around 15 young people, 2-3 “decision makers” and a young person to chair the debate. Young people in the debate have the chance to put questions to the decision makers and raise issues that affect them in their day to day lives. The aim of this is to give the young people an opportunity to be listened to and influence positive change within the region for young people.

The seven Circle debates are:

  • Transport
  • Equality
  • Crime & Punishment Young People
  • Stereotypes & the Media
  • Mental Health
  • Alcohol & Drugs
  • Citizenship
