For young people…by young people: A National Voice presents The LILAC Project Event - Monday 16th August 11am to 4pm
A National Voice is hosting a fun and free event on 16th August in Central Birmingham for looked after children and care leavers and their workers. Young people and workers will have a chance to learn more about the LILAC project and how to get involved. There will be workshops for young people on dance, drumming and graphic art, and an interactive LILAC workshop for professionals. There will also be food, activities and prizes…..
The aims of the event are:
- To introduce the LILAC project (for more information go to www.lilacanv.org ) and the training and paid work opportunities it offers to care-experienced 16 – 25 year olds.
- To exchange good practice regionally amongst social care professionals by sharing knowledge and experience of local participation projects.
- To promote awareness of the work of A National Voice amongst young people and professionals.
- To allow young people to develop their skills and experience by becoming involved in a young person led
This will be a really good opportunity for the young people that you work with so please circulate this information to as many of them as possible and encourage them to attend! Please note that young people will need to be accompanied to this event, so we ask that one member of staff attends for every four young people who you support to come along.
Please feel free to circulate this email to any other professionals you know who work with looked-after children and care leavers that may also wish to attend.
