Young children's voices - profiling and planning to enable their participation in children's services
You are invited to attend the launch of a new self-assessment resource designed to support development of a listening culture in early childhood services.
The celebration will include a presentation on a consultation project with young children about the Free Entitlement - an example of how listening to young children can really make a difference to local and national policy.
Let's listen:
- is designed for practitioners to use in settings
- uses the themes and principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the YCVN Listening Cycle
- is designed for local authorities and Children's Trust boards to use in mapping participation of young children in children's services
- is mapped against Hear by Right participation standards
Young Children’s Voices Network – new self-assessment resource
YCVN will be publishing a new self-assessment resource in April. Let’s listen is designed to support the development of a listening culture in early years settings. YCVN has planned a launch event on 22 April 2010 in London.
All places for this event were booked very quickly and this event is now full.
However, if you would like your name to go on the waiting list, or would like news of further YCVN events, please contact the Project Manager Lucy Williams, lwilliams@ncb.org.uk. The Let’s listen resource will be available to download from the YCVN webpages by the end of April.
