Overall aim
The aim of this course is to gain an understanding of the different ways in which disabled children communicate and develop strategies for ensuring the involvement of disabled children in every aspect of their lives.
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this course participants will:
- Understand the legislation and guidance relevant to the participation of disabled children
- Develop knowledge and awareness of the different ways in which disabled children communicate
- Examine strategies and ways in which professionals can work to ensure that the views of children are taken into account in all decisions affecting their lives
- Develop an action plan to change local practice
Who should attend?
This course will be of interest to managers and practitioners in all sectors - education, early years, social services and health who are working top develop a framework to ensure that all disabled children are included in services.
