The Government has published its response to the Education and Skills Select Committee’s second report on citizenship education. Teaching citizenship as part of the National Curriculum was made compulsory for Key stages 3 and 4 in September 2002.

A consortium of six national children and young people’s agencies led by NCB delivers the programme.
