Empowering Young People Pilots Interim Evaluation Finds that Majority Of Young People Are Dissatisfied With Activities In Their Local Areas

The interim report from the findings of an evaluation of the Empowering Young People Pilots has been published. The EYPP pilots are a Government initiative that is looking at the impact of giving disadvantaged young people supported access to funding on reducing financial barriers to participation and increasing participation in positive activities. The pilots, currently taking place in nine local authorities across England till March 2009, aim to encourage young people to participate in positive activities.

The East Midlands Voluntary Youth (EMVY) held their Annual General Meeting followed by a ‘Promoting Young People’s Voice and Influence in the East Midlands’ event yesterday. (Thursday 6 November 2008). Formed in 2000 by voluntary youth groups and networks across the region, EMVY aims to be an inclusive and diverse network for the voluntary youth sector, providing strategic support, influence and advocacy at a regional level.

Government Announces Compulsory Sex and Relationships Education

The Government has announced that Sex and Relationships Education will become a compulsory subject in all schools across the country.
